History
Our hotel has a history of almost 30 years. It was opened in 1993 and is located on the same farm that has been used as a winery since 1951. The historical region around Saulheim offers cultural monuments of every kind. Rheinhessen is considered a particularly distinctive cultural landscape, whose cultural heritage can be admired especially in the historic cities of Mainz and Worms. Famous personalities such as Johannes Gutenberg and Hildegard von Bingen and lively customs such as carnival are an expression of the regional identity.

Leisure activities can be practiced in a variety of ways. The area is ideal for cycling tours, for example, with e-bikes, which can be rented cost-effectively in the surrounding area (e-bike rental via Wörrstadt Tourist Office). Walks and hikes through the vineyards or to the natural ponds in Saulheim are considered particularly beautiful. If you would like to experience some thrill in addition to the diverse hilly landscape, you have the option of booking a “mystery hike“, which promises a lot of fun. In addition to that, we highly recommend the popular vineyard tours that guarantee a relaxing view of the region while enjoying a delicious glass of wine. Sports enthusiasts can use the nearby sports facilities or play golf at the Hofgut Wißberg in St. Johann on one of the most renowned golf courses in Germany.

We are happy to assist you in planning and organizing your leisure activities!

Excursion destinations in the Rhein-Main area

The scenic attractiveness of the region results from the contrast between the two rivers that give the region its name and the low mountain ranges that border the region. City trips to the nearby cities of Mainz, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Bingen, Worms, Mannheim or Heidelberg offer unlimited leisure activities with numerous museums and sights. Those who like to go to the water can visit the city Bingen and the place where the rivers Rhine and Nahe meet, take a canoe tour on the Lahn or book a boat tour on the Moselle or the Rhine. Wine lovers will get their money's worth at wine tastings in the local wineries, vineyard tours or the wine taverns and can enjoy the world-famous wine of the region. Furthermore, we have collected some interesting sights in the Rhein-Main area for you, which are definitely worth a visit: The historic old town in Idstein, the building of the famous artist Hundertwasser in Darmstadt, the city Limburg an der Lahn, the castle Rheinfels in Sankt Goar, the famous suspension rope bridge Geierlay in Mörsdorf, the romantic walking lane Drosselgasse in Rüdesheim or the open-air museum in Bad Sobernheim.
